I believe it! Nothing more relaxing than a curled up cat by your side and a good beer.

Re: The Healing Power of a cat purring
I have rescue cats, one of them has been especially challenging because he almost starved to death while living on the street and was in a bad shape when I got him. He has been with me for over a year and is physically fine at the moment. However, he has had issues with stressing about changes and it has taken me a long time to get him to trust me. The past weeks he has made a huge progress, he comes to sleep in my bed every night. Some nights he even comes right next to me purring - his purr is strange, very deep and has an edge. That purr makes me so happy to know that he is finally doing fine at my place and did not have to starve to death on the street.
Maybe I'll try a good beer along with that deep purr, bosharpe

I had a cat that would come lay right on my upper chest early in the morning. Her purr would vibrate against me and wake me up. Very deep sense of warmth and attachment. No beer involved that early in the AM.

Sadly I can't have beer and cats together. A few of mine love the flavor of beer and will try and steal it on me if I'm not careful.bosharpe wrote:I believe it! Nothing more relaxing than a curled up cat by your side and a good beer.

as cat and kitten volunteer I totally agree! Makes me wish to own one!

Wow! My cat tries to steal my cod and chips and occasionally licks my bowel after some yogurt but I can't say he has a taste for beer.Samt03 wrote:Sadly I can't have beer and cats together. Cats are great aren't they? In fact I'm a great lover of animals all round.

We have an older calico, Hermione (yea like Granger) who loves to curl up next to your head when you are sleeping. She then proceeds to lick your hair, sometimes for 30 minutes or more.

Haha, my old cat use to do something similar. Unfortunately my girlfriend is allergic to cat saliva so no more for me. Probably for the best

The thing about the licking with Hermione is that it is mostly with my husband when he lays down with a migraine, she will curl up right above his head. He swears it actually helps them go away.

I can just imagine Hermione licking his temples and around the pressure points. I think my old cat washed me just because he thought I tasted salty or something.
