So many people will relate to this one.

Many spiritual teachings I’ve studied tell me my soul chose these experiences before I was even born.  

According to Campbell it's the lesson, itself, that can be set up before birth, not the actual experience.

For a personal example, I'll use myself. I was born to parents that went to early graves because of their alcoholic practices. As they were my role models, my young adulthood was also as a practicing alcoholic.

At 37 years old in 1990, I figured out why that lifestyle practice wasn't what I wanted, due to it's ill health choices.
