Dihydrogen monoxide, also known as hydric acid or DHMO, is used in the production of styrofoam, in nuclear powerplants, in biological and chemical weapons manufacturing, and in various industries as a solvent. It is present in alarming levels in our rivers, lakes, oceans, atmosphere, and even in most faucets. It is scientifically proven that accidental inhalation of DHMO can be fatal, even in small quantities. Yet the dangers of this chemical are flatly denied by both industry and government.

I'm not a chemist so I googled this and here is what I found in just two minutes and there are tons more: It's a hoax, the website is a hoax. Dihydrogen Monoxide is just a fancy name for water, so if you inhale it, it can kill you, it's called drowning. It is a factor in acid rain, it's the rain part. It does call soil erosion, water does that. So I think we can call off the angry letters.

I knew that it was a hoax when I posted it. Laughing I just find it thought-provoking in that it demonstrates how easy it is to convincingly exaggerate dangers.
