Sweet Stuff

I wonder why sweet stuff tastes so good. How does stuff like that happen? Who decides? And how much is enough? I just had some, and now I want more. It's like there's an echo inside me that keeps repeating more? More? More? Who is that? Do I know him? Does he wear hats? Will he shut up if I give him one? There's probably a hat around here somewhere.

I gave in and had another sweet. I know where a hat is, but not the guy who keeps asking for more. Not sure how to give something to someone who isn't here. So I guess bribery isn't going to work. Ear plugs? Nah - that's not going to work. He's in my head I think, so trapping him in there with plugs is a terrible idea. Might be able to chase him away with angry in-laws, but then I'd have to listen to them yell at each other. Think I'd rather have more sweets. I suppose I could drown him in honey, but that stuff's so sticky. I'd be covered in it too. Honey is sweet though. The smart move might be bees, if I can befriend some. They might chase him away if I asked nicely enough.

So how do you solve these things? What's the answer? How many oranges make three? And more importantly, how do you befriend bees?

Such a dilemma...

Sweet stuff, sticky stuff, deliciousness poured on
I want more, much more, give me give me, some
oh dear, how to stop, this voice inside
When I touch upon the sweetness
I want to drown in the hive
I want to drown in all that honey
I want to drown with those bees
Immersed in such sweetness
How on earth to befriend bees?
Simply dive in the hive
And pretend to freeze?

Otherwise those bee friends
Might sting your inner sweetness
Because those sharp rear ends
Might bring you to a grounded halt
Where you no longer befriend

A comrade indulging sweetness
Together in one’s den
But rather bringing to a halt
The more you sought to end..

So here I’ve resolved the voice wanting more
But alas those oranges are rolling around the floor
Waiting for my answer on how many make three?
If they’d just stop rolling, I might just see!!

Roll roll away oranges, whilst I soak up my need
To satiate this sweetness, with one hundred hats up my sleeve..

Maybe just maybe, in the hat of my choice
I may find the answer and give the oranges a voice..
