Welcome Asauey! There's tons of good stuff to find here and we even have donuts. Just see Reamsie.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you as well. In the meantime, here are some good links in this thread to get started understanding HSP more. http://funhsps.niceboard.org/t2267-discussions-on-what-highly-sensitive-people-are-all-about

Hello everyone! I'm Victor, I'm from Italy and I've just found out I'm an HSP, meaning I can finally name the condition I've always felt, so to say. I'm so glad I've found this forum

Hi there,
I'm Pola from London. I stumbled upon this forum recently but was unsure whether to sign up as it seems a bit extinct. Is there still life here? And are these donuts within their expiry date? :-)

Hi, and welcome! There is still life around here, some of us are a bit busy with irl stuffles but I at least check the board a few times a day./Pola wrote:Hi there,

Re: Welcome new members!
Welcome Pola. Our tiny board goes through periods of quiet and then gets quite busy. The donut lady hasn't been by in a while, I'll have to ping her. Have a look around, lots to read; gems to find. Part of the problem is we've kind of talk ourselves out over the years, but threads can be revived at any time. Here it's encouraged; fresh insights and views are always welcome.

Sort of. We have active and quiet periods. New members bringing fresh material always spurs activity. There's only so much new to talk about otherwise after 5 years of talking or so.

Re: Welcome new members!
Hi!! 😬 I'm new here. This is my first time introducing myself as HSP anywhere ever in my life! Feels good. It felt sooo good to learn about HSPs ... I felt validated. So thx to our fearless leader for that. I am confused about one thing though: I keep reading about HSP being a bad thing or something that is challenging to weather. It never crossed my mind that my "abilities" were making my life more difficult... before I even knew of the term "Hyper Sensitive Person" I knew there were things about me that were special and I knew it's best to hide my unique abilities from others if I wanted to be liked, accepted, and to fit in. But - even so, I still never saw my HSPness as something negative. Of course there ARE negative things that are a direct result of my hypersensitivity (my many physical ailments come to mind), for the most part, I view my ability to see every nuance in a scene, for example, as a positive thing. I've always called my abilities my "super powers," since they are so extraordinary. Remember the movie: The Bourne Identity? Well there's this scene where he describes his ability to pick up very specific details from a scene, such as the number of cars in the parking lot and which of them was most likely to have a weapon in it. The first time I saw that scene, I said: "that's me that's me!" Does anyone else think of their HSP attributes as special gifts?? Thanks for letting me hoin

Welcome Love2Love! I got a giggle over "hyper sensitive person"; you've just given a 3rd term for HSP. The original one is Highly Sensitive Person and the more recent one is High Sensory Perception which many of us like better. HSP is a gift; I fully agree. HSP is an alternate physiological approach that comes with both advantages and disadvantages over the more standard one. We take in more information from all sources and ingest it deeper, react to it more strongly. Finding out about HSP is kind of like finding the owners manual to the alternative way of being, since the standard how to advice often is harmful to us. Once we learn what works best, we thrive all the more, live more fully and deeply. We do indeed have superpowers, once they're embraced.
This board is kind of quiet now in it's old age, but people still do drop by from time to time and I check in daily at the very least. Established members have watched people arrive, not join in other people's threads, then leave so often that now they tend to wait until members establish themselves a bit. So don't be discouraged at first at how quiet it is here. There is almost a decade of wonderful threads here, a wealth of information on all things HSP as well as about any other topic of interest to any of us in our lives. You're welcome to post comments on any of it. Once you reach 10 posts, still more of the board opens up.
I recommend you read the threads in this subforum as well as sticky threads in the others; they serve as a guide to finding your way around this place. Enjoy!
