Re: Nicknames
Moon Child & Rivershine - LOVE 'EM!!
Monkeys4Hire lol - That is so 'u' - INFP!! lol lol lol
Blooming Ha Ha - something to get at bloomingdales maybe, lol?
/I still wish you wrote comedies!! They would be excellent!!)
Well, with all screen names posted, just remember people can google you & find you at other forums... So that is another one of the reasons to put it in a more private space, I guess...
On the other hand, if you want to be found... (?)
I think it would be good if also people who put their real names or nicknames they can be identified with would have a say in this...
We're all 'safe & secret' & few & snug here but know that in a couple of years you might have a job for which it would be better for sillier stuff online to remain incognito - no?
(Then again, you may not write such silly stuff as I do, so you may be perfectly safe... (?) )

Adain:
Fluffy Duck? LOL! That's cute. How did you wind up with that one?
Little Sister:
I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Strawberry:
Yes, I know. I should get on that right away. And I still would like to hear some of your songs. I read music too, so maybe you could email me a copy?

INFP,
Little did your grandfather know that you were destined for great things at the Bubble Blower's Academy. Would you be offended if I called you BubbleB?
I'm not sure how I feel about that.

You mean I haven't sent you any yet? lol I am a bit scatterbrained like that sometimes...
Hmm... lol Who said my songs are written down in notation?
I could only send you an mp3 or so, but it's very badly recorded, mind you... (& it may not be according to your musical taste...-?!!! )

Brawstrerry is being 'self conscious' again.....her songs are actully quite good. need a little polish (some kielbasa would help), but they are worth listening to.....

Re: Nicknames
I agree with Reb (again, amazing!).
I enjoyed your songs too, even in rough form. If you don't want to post them, due to international copyright issues, maybe it would be okay if people could request to hear them by email? Just an idea...

Re: Nicknames
Reb, you now want sausages from my fridge too? /confused/
PS We say 'klobasa'... (but I have no idea what you meant with it - guts?? Or, refinement? /
Well, I'm thinking to maybe put some on Soundclick or MySpace or something... But I'd really like to have 'em recorded better...
Thing is, the songs are in a variety of genres... from country to acoustic... (can't pull off the punk-rock-pop that well off with just me & the guitar )
Been listening to some YouTube singer/songwriters... Some are actually pretty good!! (&some with the guitar also!) So yeah, I would like to improve my guitar-skills & such...
Little_Sister, if you wish to listen to any kind of music or audio, like podcasts or videos, you just need cheapie headphones, & you plug them into the computer - & voila! The sound is much better on the headphones than on speakers anyway... & if you get a headset with a microphone (maybe about $10 or less!), you can also telephone internationally - or nationally - for free!!
/Or record music, or podcasts, lol!!/

Re: Nicknames
SB,
kielbasa is a kind of polish sausage; due to the proximity to you, i would bet it means 'guts', as that's the casing traditionally used to make sausage. they'd put the ground meat in a hank of intestine, and tie both ends.

Re: Nicknames
lol I didn't know Slavic sausages were that popular over there!! lol
Klobasa here certainly doesn't mean 'guts' - no idea for the Polish though!!
/They do seem a very Catholic & God-abiding nation, so... hmmm? /
'Klobasati' means 'to talk far-fetched things in a long-winded manner' here, though I'm not familiar with any other idioms...

So keiabasa and klobasa coming from Reb must have been quite confusing, given the meaning of klobasati! Klobasati fits somehow....

Re: Nicknames
erm, 'klobasanje' actually... /pronounced 'kloba-sah-nye'/ (that's a gerund, -ti is an infinitive - we have complicated grammar! )
It would be funny if someone actually had a nickname 'sausage' lol
There was a really good band here in Slovenia called 'The Sausages' - had excellent covers & a cute singer, but their originals were terrible...

So klobasanje is a form of klobasati?'Klobasati' means 'to talk far-fetched things in a long-winded manner'
Or does klobasanje mean sausage?
Either is funny when applied to Reb. It's too bad we don't have an english equivilant word to klobasati.

Re: Nicknames
Klobasa = sausage!!
It doesn't really mean anything else here!!
If you want to say, it takes 'guts' or that someone has guts/'balls', that man has or must have 'eggs'!! jajca (pronounce 'yah-ytsah') = like English particular male organs that come in 2! /or 'family jewels'/
Zhoga='ball' has no such meanings here!!
Gosh, I hope they don't take the forum down for teaching culinary swear words here, lol!!
