Watch out for Tax Refund scam emails!

I just received an email from the "Internal Revenue Service." Sounded great but it didn't smell right so I checked into it. What a scam! And, a way to get all your information to steal your identity. If you see that subject heading, get rid of it... totally bogus! Here is what it said:

Internal Revenue Service

From: Internal Revenue Service [mailito:refund@irs.gov]
Subject: You are eligible to receive a tax refund

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that
you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $330.50.

Submit the tax refund request and allow us 2-4 days in order to
process it.

A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons.
For example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.

Please complete the form attached to your email to access your tax refund.

Note: For security reasons, we will record your ip-address, the date and time.
Deliberate wrong inputs are criminally pursued and indicated.

Really bad new... why do people have to do stuff like this? Jerks!

They do it because it works. The IRS would never send a notice like this by email; all corispondence would be in writing. Con artists will try just about anything to separate people from their money and they are getting quite devious about it.
