New giant 3D printer can build a house in 24 hours (link) This is pretty cool emerging technology. I am not enamoured of concrete as a building tool, but as this technology improves, I can see it using more organic materials such as straw or rice straw bales or building in wonderful shapes, like the hobbit house.
