Music and Sounds for Meditation
I find the following chant to be very beneficial for me during meditation, and I play it a lot. The tone of her voice helps me to relax and get comfortable. The singer chants the Guru Gita, an important text in Hinduism, but to me it's more about the sound than the meaning.
Which music/sounds/chants do you use during meditation?

For the last 18 months a never fail track to get me into a deep meditative state (and sleep, even on a plane!) is Jonathan Goldman's the Ultimate Om: http://vimeo.com/11290581
I also love time and time again for a less deep meditative space, focus, calm and peace (and to make the house feel like a spa ) anything by Deuter e.g.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48eL5Zmb1go
For inner healing work and active meditation like the ones I've described in my posts on here I occasionally use something like Cecilia's album, The Healing Voice with tracks like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVKCmopH28M
For releasing emotions or to get things moving on the inside I've also immersed myself in the extraordinary Shibaten's didgeridoo music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoQqzSpyPp0&feature=relmfu
I have lots more but these are my favorites
I love love love discovering new meditative/pure music so would love to hear more if others have them...

I found out you can understand the message without understanding the words.
It's when i saw a translation of a song-text, which made me realize why i liked the song so much.

I listen to alot of post rock compilations, you can propably find some compilations on youtube. Instrumental, lots of emotions, steady music with alot of depth in it. Great for meditation.

Anarkandi, that was ridiculously great to listen to! If the police knew what that music made me (and it sounds like other people too) feel like, it would be illegal!!
Buzzing n all fuzzy... THANK YOU!!
Hooly Dooly... I innocently put candles on in my room before listening to it and was just transported LOL... Keep em coming if you know any more!

It's so bizarre! I didn't find anything I liked from Explosions in the sky though I was inspired to do a little digging and found I quite liked some of the F*** Buttons who feature the artist who wrote Chernobyl. Do you have a particular track that you like from Explosions in the Sky as I see they have a number of albums?
My music taste seems to be so fickle where I'll like a particular track from an artist and then all the other tracks from that artist won't speak to me...
This said, I did however, for curiosity go and listen to some of my favorite old electronic music to see how I feel about it now, whether I'd still like it... Yes, I still really like it and it was a lot of fun and made me miss going to dance parties (I used to go before I started being aware of sensitivities etc.)
The vibe Chernobyl gave was the same vibe I used to get from really good dance music (e.g. I loved progressive house and some trance and psytrance)... I haven't heard really good new dance music in a while though...

I really love this. (hmm seems I have a thing for Sanskrit ^^)
It has this certain goddess energy that feels very sensual to me. I love to use it for meditation to lift my energy.
