Interesting concept, but I wonder about the bugs. A malfunction in such a situation would be far more than inconvenient. OTOH... human error is rampant.

I wonder about any potential bugs too. The only way I could see making it safe is by having at least one backup system for all of the components, which wouldn't be cheap.
I was just watching classic episodes of Knight Rider lol! It's amazing how science fiction is becoming science fact.

Yes, they really need three system with comparing and redundancy like they used to use in fighter jets...
I'll still take my own judgment, thanks. Machines do not necessarily make good judgment calls, and programmers can't always allow for every situation.
I would expect self driving cars to cause as many injuries as they prevented at the start.
I prefer the freedom of choice of controlling my own vehicle...I like being in control.
