Our personalities are set at an early age for life--interesting article

They just looked at some basic traits, but this lines up with what I picked up intuitively as a child, that our underlying personality is inborn and refined by our experiences.

Absolutely! Although it's good that they do studies such as these...it's also kind of funny that it's of subjects that we have 'intuitively' known the answer for. At least it was for me also...
I guess there is something to say for 'general awareness' then...
Not to deal with the negative side only...but the 'scars that don't seem to heal' from misunderstanding...abuse...biased labeling...etc...appear to stay thru quite well also...as we are ALL quite aware of through our 'forums'.
So important 'now' to emphasize this aspect to keep this from happening to our young ones...in their formidable years. To keep on repeating 'mistakes' after consciously being aware that it is incorrect behaviour to do so...would be sad indeed!

Indeed. Our personalities are not mental illnesses to be corrected in order to fit into society.
Not everyone is intuitively aware so such studies are needed to back up what those of us who are already know.
