One question that just came to mind about this test:

How does following every little law, thinking that the most important thing is manners, and other similarly superficial nuances mentioned by the test make one empathic?

I don't know. It's just a stupid test, Nucky. It probably isn't accurate and even if it is it doesn't mean anything. Least of all whether anyone is actually empathetic. Very Happy

Nuc,
Listen to Lula.....those question don't mean a thing, especially the law one. I'd like know what fashion has to do with empathy myself.

I can explain superficial nuances though such as manners.....I just know what is polite and what isn't. If in strange situations, I'm less likely to make fauxpaxs than others by simple observation, but it's inate awareness of them too. I really would be discomforted at knowing some one thought I had no manners, and I'm genuinely distrubed at people who don't have them. Social niceties are what make our day to day life's just that little bit easier. Truth is, you probably aren't even aware of it, Nucky....you probably abide by them without thinking, so don't worry about it.

Clairsentience

Experiencing other realities or entites through one or more of the five senses.

Examples

A tickling sensation on the hand or face during meditation.
A pressure on the top of the head when talking or connecting with a Spirit.
Hairs on the back of the neck standing on end when a spirit is near.
A sensation in the left side of the face when talking with spirit.
A floral smell...like gardenias.
Funny how smokers - especially cigar smokers - can be experienced as spirits by the smell of a "good cigar"!
A movement as a flick of white, purple, or blue light.
Seeing shadows in the periphery of your field of vision.

I smell flowers alot of the time when I go into peoples homes, mine included late at night. It can be overpowering.

I also see things move out of thwe sides of my eyes & when I look straight ahead nothing is there.

This is weird but when I smoked pot I saw peoples auras. I kid you not. It scared me to death. I thought I was going crazy. They glowed & different people had different ones. It wasn't just around their heads like people say they see them. It surrounded their entire body. Was enough to make me not wanna do it again. Lol!

AND...when I drink, it's creepy I am actuallly more open to "feeling" and sensing things. I think I have senithesia or however you spell it . I can smell sounds....maybe I am just crazy. But it scares me.

Shell,
I got scared when I looked it up. If you have any doubts about belonging here now....well, let's just say we share similar gifts Wink.
You smell flowers? That's cool.
I just see flicks of white and shadows....I thought there was something wrong with my vision.

I see auras too, but only at night, and only when I'm tired, and super relaxed. If I concentrate they go away. It dosen't happen often.
Pot just makes me sick.

Not so much....but I was surprised more than anything. It's only a faint glimmer for me, on peoples hands, round thier heads. I had a friend who could see aura's like you can though.
I get more scared touching people, and just knowing stuff about them. When I started reading that stuff, the hairs on my neck stood up.

You scored 39 on Empathy, higher than 34% of your peers.

Sometimes I am really in tune with what another person is feeling... it's often frightening, especially if they are experiencing a strong emotion - it really frazzles me.

Yeah....I wasn't crazy about some of the questions either and did not know how to answer them...so...I could not complete.
I am not for 'labels' in general and at my age I kind of know how I am and what I like or don't by now...where I'm comfortable or not.
I can be extremely empathetic when i wish to be...or 'close off' my feelings when i don't care for what I am dealing with.
Yeah...i'm a 'feeler'...and it's been tested quite naturally enough for my 55 years...I guess.
peace...

I think because the more law-abiding you are, or the better manners you have, the more you would seem to be considering other people. If you were to drive even just a little bit over the alcohol limit, for example, you would be putting others at risk....in other words, you would have little regard, or 'empathy' for them or their lives. If you decided to go nude in a public place, you would be offending many people (not everyone, of course Wink ). If you parked in a no parking zone, even briefly, you would probably be making life harder for others (spaces reserved for disabled people, for example). And if you had few or no manners, other people would not feel very comfortable around you.

That's my understanding of it, anyway.

I dunno what the 'morning' and 'fashion' questions have to do with it, though.

My result was 57....'above average'.....higher than 80% of my peers. Some of the questions were difficult to answer.

The results of an online test would hardly be conclusive. I also didn't understand what half the questions had to do with empathy. Nucky, you seem to be beating yourself up over a 35. Well I don't think anyone could have scored lower than I did. a 19. It said I must have autism. I think it has alot to do with the blocking of other's emotions that I've learned to do as a survival mechanism. The results of this test don't bother me.

Not really. I find it difficult to find empathy or compassion for people sometimes because I have to block negative emotions from people so often.
