Vulnerability and Connection
“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

It is right on the mark. We have to enter one another's worlds to see.

I really like Brene, but...I find vulnerability confusing. Who are we supposed to be vulnerable with? I've fallen "victim" to being vulnerable to numerous people and it was really a mistake. Me being vulnerable seems to attract a certain type of person. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? :/
Maybe I have to mature more to understand.

I think being vulnerable with eyes wide open helps. Also, being willing to say no when you have to and sticking to it. Sometimes that means keeping certain people out of your life, if necessary... even if they are biologically considered family. But that it does mean taking chances... and having a firm understanding of who you are and what you will and won't accept to influence your life... maybe those chances are calculated chances, but you are still willing to take them... and that's courage... and vulnerability... I think.

Re: Vulnerability and Connection
feels like vulnerability is almost an art, or something?
definitely something that has to be practiced, worked at.
