The author is curiously optimistic about how things can be prevented. While her video suggests simple practical ways to manage finances, she doesn't address the larger picture of how to turn it around. I expect her book does tell more.

It is good to know not everyone feels hopeless about what is happening and there are those determined to turn it around.
