Spring is always beautiful. However summer is arriving here; it was still above 80F about 8pm.

The spring flowers are about done blooming and I'm awaiting the summer ones to begin. Plus all the local fruit of summer is about to arrive. Yummmm...

And direct from the SW desert region is this report - spring has passed already here and our temps reached 100 for the first time this past week. The birds are most active in the morning and evenings now. There are an abundance of doves of varying species, noisy old woodpeckers, cactus wrens, mockingbirds and more. The lizards are particularly active now, running amok on the fence, trees, wherever. The ants are everywhere. Gratefully not inside. The mesquite tree out front is in bloom with numerous catkins on it. Sigh, I love mesquites but am allergic to them when they are in bloom - achoo! Other cacti are blooming, the prickly pears and majestic sahuaros among them. The nights are absolutely lovely, warm with the breeze tenderly carressing one's exposed skin. The days, well, they are hot, hot and sometimes hotter. That's it for your desert report -- for now.

I love spring here. It has been unseasonably cool though. However today should be in the high 70's. In fact I have a whole morning and I'm getting ready to take the camera out and just walk around.
