Until I see him act, I will try to reserve judgement. But he seems too young!

In any case, no matter who plays Dr. Who, I will watch them and regardless of what I think of the new Dr., he too will play the part for a time and then ceed to the next one.

interesting...
we'll see how he does. I just hope the writing continues as it has. Is Russell T. Davies still on the show?

I will miss David Tennant ofcourse. Haven't seen the Christmas special yet. When does he regenerate? If it's on the special don't tell me, lol.

I heard he is leaving also. I'm not sure how I feel about that one. Neutral

The new Doctor Who seems a bit young. As with melodiccolor, I will reserve my judgment until after I see him act.

I've seen the Christmas special... downloaded and and have it on a CD now too. It's another good one. I will definitely miss David Tennant also... he's been a great Doctor Who.

The Christmas Special was broadcast in UK only so your tivo would not have recorded it.

Reamsie posted a link in the thread "Re: What are you watching right now?" in "Off the Deep & Shallow End" to where you can download it. Don't know if it is still a viable download tho... hope it is. Good luck. Very Happy

Ohhh good; another Dr Who fan to join the club. big grin When Reamsie and I first came to Aimoo (we arrived just one day apart) it took us very little time to figure out both of us were big Dr Who fans. Little did we know there were so many others out there among hsp's. I love it.

It is nice to get some other Who fans here.

I don't get on the board as much as I used to because of work, but except for some of the newbies, I think everyone here pretty much knows I kind of have a thing (ok Mel, maybe slightly obsessive thing beatingheart ) for David Tennant, especially in his role of Doctor Who. So for the time being I would like to continue being in denial of DT leaving the show. Very Happy

I have watched Doctor Who since I was a kid when Tom Baker was the Doctor, so I will continue to watch the show because I love the character. But honestly, I don't know how I feel about this guy. He is only 26 I think and anybody following DT has some pretty big shoes to fill. So for right now I'm just kind of:

I checked out his interview, on winning the role. Honestly, yeah, he seems a bit young, but truth be told, watching it, I could see what went through the producers head....I think he will make a very good Doctor, I just don't think they wanted to wait a few more years for him to get a bit of maturity. Any ways, since when have you seen the BBC do less than an impeccable job in casting?

I Love David Tennant too, but he felt it was time to move on.

BBC did much less than an impeccable job of casting with the actor who played Dr. Who after Peter Davidson did. That actor was sour and sarcastic and very unlikable. I think they cast him to contrast with Davidson's sweetness and way overdid it. So when they revived Dr. Who with Chris Eclastion (sp?), I was concerned until I saw him and then I was very happy. And then David Tenent; it was even better. mrgreen

Maybe the current directors are the same ones who cast Eclastion and Tenent also cast the new one. In which case, yeah, it will probably turn out well. So you could see the potential the producers saw in him? Very encouraging. No new crush for Reamsie though; this doctor is just too young. lol!

Adain, I think Peter Davidson played a very hsp Dr. Who and he was one of my all time favorites. I had a wee bit of a crush on him too.

Thanks BlueEyes. I know I'll be checking it out when I have a bit of time. So will the others.

I like that they are going older (I mean after Matt Smith what were they going to do raid the high schools for someone. Very Happy) again, I think its a move in the right direction.

On a slight sidenote - BBC America will be airing the fourth season of Torchwood starting September 14th.  A lot of people didn't get to see it since it was made and produced by the STARZ cable network.

Oh and if anyone wants to catch David - Broadchurch has been airing on BBC America for those of you who get that channel.  Its very good so far.

I don't want to be a wet blanket or anything...but this guy is just not doing it for me. I just don't feel that wild confident spark that the last three doctors had. I suspect this may turn out to be a poor choice of casting...but hopefully it's just me! LOL
