I was introduced to the song "Let It Go" via this parody a friend sent me, so this is what I associate with the song.

Re: Dont Piss me off thread.
What the fuck man!!!
Today's rant:
Went to go buy some work out clothes from TX max.
The girl's work out bottoms were either like swimsuit bottoms or this super fight fitting leggings.
The shirts were mostly too tight for me too.
Now I am pear shaped, which is why I'm working out, but this is kind of ridiculous considering chubby people like me are the ones who need to work out....
My dad kept telling me I couldn't try the guys' shorts because they're too long or whatever and it'd be weird if he and I wore the same kind of clothes.
After I tried on some of the girls' work out ubber short skirts and realized I could just substitute my swimsuit's bottom for it, he finally consented.
>> I'm starting to think this kind of stuff is why I am kind of masculine in personality.
If this is popular idea of what girls should wear, SCREW THAT.
Why do I have to be sexy and strip to work out when it costs like 5$ to buy a guy's pair of work out shorts that is comfortable and fits...
The looks I got from shopping in the guy's active wear was pretty awkward...
But hey I just wanted some damn comfortable clothes that breathed and didn't collect sweat like my current ones.
>> If I have to dress like a guy so be it. I'm sorry, that's just damn sad.
Women's clothes also cost more for whatever reason, for less fabric...
We modern women are strange creatures if this is the popular thing these days.

You had the right reaction!Zen wrote:If this is popular idea of what girls should wear, SCREW THAT.
For some reasons, the values that society vehicles today are really contradictory. Don't be fat but oh! don't be skinny; don't be poor but rich people are so selfish!
It's reaally confusing, and I'm sure most people make themselves miserable because they try to identify with unreachable expectations. People think they're following their hearts; but they are following the society's heart, which is promoting the Woman: photoshopped stars and such... It's like difference is not being acknowledged and the goal is to be stuffed into a mould and crushed by it...
hey, now that I think about it, you told me something similar.
So hear hear ^^for what you said!

Lol what I find most sad is this stuff would probably not be the case if we women weren't the ones buying it >>;
Society is composed of us too after all. I guess for some people the mold is natural, but here's to hoping things change soon.
>> More women are graduating from college than guys now in our generation, maybe we'll see crap shift in a decade.
Reminds me of that one girl who won the nobel peace prize recently.
Taliban is terrified of a teenage girl who thinks women should be considered equals.
Why else would you put that much time and effort into trying to assassinate a 14 year old girl...
Guess that attitude as common sense as it seems to me now, can screw with all kinds of power balances and social norms.
Sometimes I kinda feel bad though, like messing with people's cute perceptions.
(watches news about it being legal to take pictures up women's skirts in Washington SC)
Nope, maybe I don't...

Oh yeah.Zen wrote:I guess for some people the mold is natural
Aren't you saying that intelligence like the one that can get people to graduate and the intelligence which is related to awareness of the world are the same thing?
I differentiate those two things. I have some gifted friends who have no awareness at all; of society's hidden machinery.
I will never believe in equality, at least in the universal meaning it holds. Because that equality is defined by society's standards, and those are always biased, deformed, or just wrong. People in herds usually think wrong.
It's why I love talking with you guys. Because you think for yourselves, about yourselves and the deep layers that hide behind YOU; it's the most important thing in my mind. Zen, you bypassed that by thinking for yourself and deciding you were above society's (stupids) standards and by men stuff anyway. But the society as a whole cannot think like that.
Lol, isn't that really pessimistic of me?
My point is, people can only thrive individually, and all this work will be eventually lost because of group thinking. Well, it depends I guess. But anyway.
This post is a digression and it has nothing to do with what you were saying

lol well this is a rant thread, why not.
I actually meant that higher college graduates screws with older ideas of gender roles that is still going on in parts of the world where just being a scholar and female is radical.
I think you can be a genius engineer or book savy, and be an utter moron character or spirituality wise. Vice versa too.
Maybe we sort of balance each other out in the long run.
lol I learned in college that our society is only one perspective, so not to take it as absolute.
There are/were other human cultures where they do not necessarily have this problem. The bigger your civilization, the more this type of thing tends to happen. It seems to be the trade off for many other things you could argue we do "better" than other types of human societies.
Cultures we consider backwards and barbaric, are probably close to as equal as you can get, but they tend to lack the organization that can produce things we enjoy like public education, modern utilities, or vaccinations... sushi...
If you think about it, we have come far in many ways for a young culture even if we like coasting along with the flow in a lot of cases and googling stuff and looking stuff up other people have figured out rather than first hand gaining knowledge for ourselves as individuals.

Re: Dont Piss me off thread.
PS
book savy+credentials vrs character depth and wiser judgment pisses me off more than sexist clothes LOL
Guess which one wins out in the work place... >> Kind of frustrates me latey.
>> I think that's why I'm going to stick to moderating for the time being...
It's one of the few job things I've found where strength of character and down to earth personal resolve trump memorizing data and having fancy rubber stamp credentials. Lots of brilliant people shy away lol.
