Our next chat room get together on Aug 2nd, 2008

It looks like it's set. I heard back from some people. The chat starts on Sat. Aug. 2nd at 3pm gmt-7 (pst) or at 6pm gmt-4 (est). It looks like Strawberry and Aiden will be able to join us; that is why I picked that time so they both could.

The last one went from around 4:14pm pst (it started early) to after 11:30, so it was very successful. So if you cannot come early, still check in as it may still be going on. The chatbox for those of you who haven't tried it yet is located at the bottom of the index page. Just click on the words "chat box" and you're in.

I don't expect the technical difficulties we had last time. A server was crashing at the time and it has since been replaced (YAY!).

Okay, we are currently on the same time so what does that translate into for us?? Sorry, the brain is still a tad fried. What isn't fried is currently puddled. It's a humidity thing right now.

lol, Nan, you have my sympathies; I have experienced Arizona summers for a bit as quite a few of my husband's family live there.

Maybe in my case, Mel. I had some trouble with not being able to access the internet since yesterday afternoon. WiFi link to the router was fine, but the Mac refused to assign the correct address for itself. Only thing which seems to help is shutting down the computer for about 8-12 hours while doing other things.

Well, I hope you are able to join us tomorrow. Ah tech..... Seems lately both you and Reb have had more than your share of computer problems.

i dunno if mine is 'computer' or 'wire' or what. they are a nuisance sometimes...

Would it help if we told you that maybe there was a gazillion to one possibility that Scooter would be there? I mean probably not, since he doesn't belong to this site and he has never heard of us and doesn't know any of us are alive . . . . but it could happen! You would hate yourself if you didn't show up and missed it.

we created an alternative reality/universe -- it was awesome!

Shell, I'm sorry you missed it. There will be others. Nan is right, we really did create an alternative reality.

The chat began a bit before 3pm my time and went until 11:15pm, so over 8 hours.

I managed to save about half of it and Nucky saved a good bit too. The group decided that some of what we talked about would make good threads so I will be using excerpts from time to time to do just that.

Just be aware as you're reading them that posts kept showing up out of order with answers to posts showing up time stamped before the original was posted and inserted above. It made conversation interesting.

Chat rooms are always fun because of that "all over the place-ness" and it was a blast last night!

Scheduled chats are good for getting more people to participate, but maybe we could pay more attention to that box down there in the meantime.

You can always hope. The problem is that a few of us are not on when others are unless they know to schedule to be there. The chatbox has been used a few times spontaneously too.
