New Physics Complications Lend Support to Multiverse Hypothesis is a great overview article on where they are in general physics right now, all the contradictory data coming in and that most physics theories are not holding up on either a macro or quantuum level. In effect they are back to square one and scrambling for theories and not liking what they are finding. I love it.

Didn't we talk about this just recently? :O Our talks might actually collapse the whole universe... let's not talk about that, ok?

This is quite normal. That is the 'not holding up' part. It's been gong on since Einstein and his limitations as exemplified by his dislike of Quantum Physics.

I've only read the first page, but on that page the terms 'natural/unnatural' are used a lot. Your emphasized comment is consistent with that. Also look of several of Richard Feynman's famous quotes - from memory - 'Shut up and calculate'.

All of this, every last aspect can be reduced to the fact that people WANT to believe Reality is 'objective, out there'. It's not and that's why the consternation.

The M-V theory has tried to bridge that consternation, but I predict, will, ultimately fail, in the long run, due to the theory's own shortcomings. And because it doesn't go far enough cause Reality is even more queer, to paraphrase JBS Haldane, than we imagine or even CAN imagine.

These people are grasping at straws and fighting the discoveries all along the way, because their EXPECTATIONS aren't being met.

Campbell has covered all this territory in his Big Picture perspective. All cosmology knows is the Little Picture, mostly from Einstein's Little TOE, as Tom distinguishes in his model.

Wait until the next collider, bigger and better, gets built, whenever, and the gnashing of teeth will once again commence.

It really is an enjoyable show. What I find amazing is the paradox that using all this wrong information, miscalculated constants, etc. in applied science, it all works.

LOL. I believe reality is objective, and is out there...it's quantum physics that is being proven false. Simple.
