It would be interesting to see what they have found....however bits of evidence are never conclusive for the picture formed by the theory may be wrong.

They were able to map dark matter with distortion to light due to gravitational lensing.

If they've finally detected it directly, that's great, but even from a purely rational standpoint the substance should exist just fine. Not all matter should interact with the fundamental forces outside of gravity, so having large amounts of matter which doesn't interact with visible, tangible matter is hardly surprising.
