Looks like it's a move

to New Jersey, dad has minor details left to sort out but looks like he more or less got the job for New Jersey company and his old company who were jerks to him turned him down for the alternative position.
Going to be moving and taking a nice trip across the country seeing stuff along the way.
That is, if there isn't any new developments in the next couple weeks.

Road trip!
Still mixed feelings for me though about moving, but I'm tired of my little central valley town and commuting to the bay area.
Not sure how to react yet.

I grew up in Matawan, in Monmouth county.

Not sure yet, around Newark I think. We don't know yet.

Newark is HSP hell.

There are probably some places not too far from Newark that aren't so bad though.

Jam-packed crowded everywhere you go, noisy (there's an international airport right in the city,) filthy, and pretty high crime too.

The crime rate is the first thing I thought of when she mentioned moving there...

And that airport... we used to use it to fly to Florida when I was very young... I can't remember anything other then it was not fun.

Not necessarily saying it's a bad idea to move there. If you're looking to get out of your comfort zone, you certainly will be.

So it was almost a certain thing, then the guy who was going to hire my dad got laid off so... back to not knowing but assuming I'm staying in California.
