Ermmmm...perhaps a bit more about the site. It gives a history of how words evolved, from spelling and pronounciation to meanings. You plug in a word and it searches for its history.

There is a large part of Swann's work that includes etymology due to his comprehensive approach. I personally find it a matter of trudging to get through it. I realize that's my personal baggage, though, cause when one is done reading, one has a well-rounded view.
